Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline in Cambridge, MA or Upper Providence, PA is seeking an Associate Director of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology to develop and apply QSP models, inform target prioritization, and guide translational decisions. You will lead disease-area QSP efforts, partner with biologists, clinicians, and modelers, and advance mechanistic understanding of drug disposition to deliver molecules into clinic.

Qualifications

• PhD in applied math, engineering, pharma sciences, systems biology or related with modeling skills.
• 2+ years in pharma/biomedical industry applying QSP to discovery or development.
• Strong background in mathematical modeling, statistics, ODEs and parameter estimation.

Responsibilities

• Build and use QSP models to evaluate diseases, pathways, progression and drug candidates.
• Collaborate with biologists, clinicians, QSP modelers to inform programs and disease mechanisms.
• Serve as disease-area QSP lead with expertise in pathophysiology, biomarkers and endpoints.
• Act as QSP modeling and simulation contact on project teams to support preclinical study design and interpretation.
• Develop and apply mathematical tools to study causal relations in system-level and drug-level responses.
• Analyze complex data in context of disease mechanisms and pathways.
• Explore combining QSP with other analytical approaches and collaborate with genomics/AI groups.
• Perform rigorous verification and validation of QSP models and methodologies.
