Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Director of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology to lead QSP/QST efforts within CPQM. Location considerations include Stevenage relocation timelines toward Cambridge, MA in the US market, with a focus on mechanistic modelling and systems biology for disease and therapeutics.

The role requires a PhD/MD/PharmD and extensive experience in MIDD, with collaboration across biology, clinical pharmacology, and biomarker teams to inform development decisions and strategy.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or PharmD with experience in mechanistic modelling and simulation.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanistic modeling, inverse problems, and scientific ML.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
• Track record of implementing Model-Informed Drug Discovery and Development (MIDD).

Responsibilities

• Build and guide mathematical model development to understand disease progression and drug action.
• Apply mechanistic models to evaluate disease pathways and treatment modalities.
• Utilize state-of-the-art mathematical tools including inverse-problem modelling and ML/AI methods.
