Job summary

SMC 3, Inc is seeking a QA Testing Engineer III to design and maintain manual and automated tests across APIs, UI and performance. The role leads test strategy, assesses risk, supports release readiness and helps maintain automation using Playwright or AI-assisted tools.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, and Security teams to validate product behavior, protect sensitive data, and enable secure testing in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of software testing experience, including automated testing; 2–3 years of performance and load testing; software development experience desired.
• Experience using Playwright, Claude Code, or comparable AI‑assisted coding/testing tools.
• Experience testing APIs, UIs, integrations, backend services, and data‑driven system behavior (XML/JSON).
• Experience using Jira in Agile Kanban or similar workflows to document testing activities and track defects.
• Ability to query raw data sources (text files, databases, APIs) to verify results.

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, maintain, and document manual and automated tests (API, UI, regression, integration, performance).
• Lead test strategy for product areas and support release readiness and automation maintenance.
• Communicate defects clearly; work with product owners to prioritize and address in backlog or sprints.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, Scrum Masters, QA, and security teams on test artifacts and security requirements.
• Validate outputs and ensure data handling aligns with secure testing practices.
