Job summary

Sustainment is seeking a senior QA automation engineer to lead the shift to a fully automated Playwright-based test suite. The role blends hands-on testing with light leadership, mentoring two engineers, and owning QA processes as daily releases accelerate.

We expect 6+ years in QA, deep experience with Playwright or Cypress, and strong API testing skills. You will integrate tests into CI/CD, mentor engineers, and help shape the QA function for a fast-paced, AI-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in QA and test automation (6+ years).
• Hands-on with modern test-automation frameworks (Playwright preferred, Cypress) and API testing.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab a plus).
• Track record of building an automated suite from partial/manual coverage.

Responsibilities

• Drive the shift from manual testing to a fully automated Playwright suite aligned with daily releases.
• Build, maintain, and scale UI and API tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to manual and exploratory testing when needed, especially on releases.
• Establish QA instrumentation to measure quality and defect tracking (escaped defects).
• Champion AI-assisted testing as the team scales toward AI-native development.
