Job summary

NOVACARD is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and smooth operation of our mobile and backend products. You will work across the full product flow—from user actions in the Android or iOS app through APIs, queues, and databases—helping deliver secure financial services to customers.

This role is fully remote, with occasional business trips if required. The candidate will collaborate with product, development, analytics, and QA teams in a fast-paced fintech

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience testing complex software systems.
• 2+ years of experience testing external integrations.
• Strong experience in functional testing of mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Hands-on experience with device logs (Android Logcat, iOS Console).
• Experience intercepting and analyzing mobile traffic across OS versions and resolutions.
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and test-management tools (X-Ray, TestRail, Zephyr).
• Strong SQL skills and ability to query MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of asynchronous messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with logging/monitoring tools (Kibana, OpenSearch, Grafana).
• Understanding of microservices and service boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new functionality, create test designs, and write and maintain test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Test mobile apps on Android and iOS across OS versions and resolutions.
• Validate end-to-end user scenarios across APIs, message queues, and databases.
• Prepare and maintain test data across customer lifecycles and product offers.
• Analyze results, identify defects and risks, and report testing status.
• Coordinate with teams before testing; identify cross-team dependencies.
• Estimate testing effort and support regression suite maintenance.
• Investigate logs and trace requests to diagnose complex issues with developers.
• Continuously improve QA processes and coverage with engineering teams.
