Job summary

Atomic HR is seeking a senior QA engineer to own testing across web apps, APIs, and integrations. You will build automated suites, run tests in GitHub Actions, and collaborate with delivery teams to ensure releases are ready with evidence.

You will define what counts as done, challenge deadlines with data, and help protect sensitive data while improving overall quality and reliability. This is a fully remote, US‑based role with significant impact on product quality and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quality, test or software engineering with automation you wrote and maintain in CI
• Built at least one test framework from scratch and wired it into CI
• Strong test code in Python or TypeScript across API, UI and pipeline
• Experience testing business rules by reading policies and deriving tests
• Experience as the sole QA across multiple teams and owning priorities

Responsibilities

• Define test strategy and automation for releases
• Identify where the product is likely to break and what to test first
• Build end-to-end journeys, a smoke suite on every build, and integration tests
• Select tools and run all tests in GitHub Actions
• Provide release verdicts with pass/fail evidence and context
• Write plain-language summaries for non-engineers and challenge risky dates with data
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to test features during development
• Set a shared definition of done and coach engineers on testing their work
• Test web app, services and external systems across browsers/devices
• Test APIs and asynchronous flows; write contract tests for external systems
• Create test data under strict data-protection rules and help fix security issues
