Job summary

Atomic HR is seeking a senior QA Automation Engineer to own test strategy and automation across a SaaS platform serving frontline workers. You’ll build end-to-end journeys, smoke tests, and CI-driven suites, while collaborating with delivery teams on what counts as done.

In this fully remote US role, you’ll assess APIs, AI features, and security aspects, ensuring quality before each release and communicating findings clearly to engineers and non-engineers alike.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quality, test or software engineering, with automation you wrote yourself, running in CI and kept by other engineers.
• At least one test practice you built from a low baseline and wired into CI.
• Strong test code in Python or TypeScript across API, browser and pipeline, including headless browser runs.
• Experience testing business rules you had to learn first: read policy and write tests.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategy and automation for releases and core features.
• Provide release verdicts: what passed, what failed, what was unchecked.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to test features as they’re built.
• Run functional, regression, and accessibility tests across browsers and devices.
• Test APIs and asynchronous flows; write contract tests for outside systems.
• Evaluate AI chat features and guardrails; use AI tools to maintain tests.
• Seed realistic test data within strict access and data-protection rules.
