Nearmap is hiring a Senior QA Engineer who will lead quality engineering efforts and hands-on automate API, web, and Windows desktop testing. You will mentor QA engineers, define automation standards, and drive test strategy for new features and releases.

You will design and maintain automated suites, extend API tests with Java/REST Assured, and create Python tooling. Remote-ready with a strong AI-assisted testing focus and Azure DevOps exposure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years QA engineering experience, including 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and REST Assured for API automation.
• Experience using Claude AI to support automation workflows.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and tooling.
• Experience testing Windows desktop apps (WinAppDriver/Appium) and Web UI (Selenium/Playwright).

Responsabilités

• Provide manual and QA automation and mentor a team of QA engineers.
• Set automation standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Plan and prioritize QA work with engineering and product leadership.
• Contribute to test strategy for new features and releases, including risk coverage.
• Report quality metrics, automation coverage, and release readiness to stakeholders.
• Act as escalation point for complex quality issues.
• Build and maintain automated test suites for API, web UI, and Windows apps.
• Develop API test automation using Java and REST Assured.
• Write Python automation scripts for test execution and data setup.
• Integrate AI tools to improve test generation and maintenance.
• Use Claude AI to accelerate automation development and test documentation.
• Build CI/CD test pipelines in Azure DevOps including test plans.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation is developing.
• Triaging test failures and root-cause analysis.
