Job summary

Yahoo Sports is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead the design and rollout of scalable test automation across web and mobile platforms. You will drive AI-assisted testing pipelines, integrate QA into CI/CD, and mentor senior QEs to uphold engineering standards.

The role focuses on architecture, observability-driven diagnostics, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality releases in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or SDET roles with architectural leadership.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development and testing tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LLM-assisted script generation).
• Deep expertise in modern test automation frameworks (Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium).
• Experience testing mobile apps, web apps, REST/GraphQL, microservices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks across Web, mobile, API, and cloud services.
• Deploy AI-driven test pipelines to generate test cases and synthesize edge-case data.
• Build automated diagnostic engines using AI and observability tools to analyze failures and flaky tests.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with deterministic quality gates.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Architects, and PMs to embed testability early in SDLC.
• Drive AI-assisted defect triage and release risk assessments.
• Establish enterprise-wide quality standards and mentor senior QEs.
