Job summary

Yahoo Sports is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to architect scalable test automation across Web, mobile, and APIs, including AI-driven test generation and diagnostics. You will collaborate with software engineers, architects, and product managers to ensure quality is integrated into the SDLC.

The role emphasizes leadership in quality engineering, observability, and cutting-edge AI testing approaches, with a flexible hybrid work model and strong emphasis on release assurance and performance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
7+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or SDET roles with leadership.
Hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted software development and testing tools.
Strong experience building test automation frameworks (Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium).
Experience testing mobile/web apps, APIs, and microservices; CI/CD integration.

Responsibilities

Architect and maintain scalable test automation frameworks across Web, mobile, API, and cloud services.
Develop AI-driven test automation pipelines to auto-generate tests and data.
Build automated diagnostic engines using AI and observability tools to analyze failures.
Integrate testing into CI/CD to enforce deterministic quality gates.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to embed testability and risk mitigation.
Drive AI-assisted defect triage and improve release stability.
