Job summary

Yahoo Sports is seeking a senior Quality Engineer to architect and lead scalable test automation across Web and mobile platforms. You will design AI-assisted pipelines to generate test cases and debug failures, while aligning with product managers to ensure testability and reliability for high-traffic services.

The role requires leadership in quality practices, mentoring across teams, and strong expertise in modern frameworks, API testing, and observability tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or SDET roles, with architectural leadership.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted software development and testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
• Deep expertise in building modern test automation frameworks (Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium).
• Strong expertise in testing mobile/web applications, REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks across Web and mobile platforms.
• Deploy AI-driven test automation pipelines to generate test cases and edge-case data.
• Build automated diagnostic engines using observability tools to analyze failures and flaky tests.
• Integrate functional, regression, and performance tests into CI/CD pipelines for release assurance.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to embed testability and contract validation.
