Job summary

Yahoo Sports is seeking a senior Quality Engineer to architect and maintain scalable test automation across Web and mobile, leveraging AI-driven pipelines to accelerate test generation and data synthesis.

Lead IA-assisted diagnostics, integrate tests into CI/CD, and collaborate with engineers and product managers to embed testability and risk mitigation early in the SDLC. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or SDET roles.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted software development and testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LLM-assisted script generation).
• Deep expertise in building modern, maintainable test automation frameworks using Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Strong expertise in testing mobile apps, web apps, REST/GraphQL APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, Java, with CI/CD integration experience.
• Experience establishing quality metrics, performance/load testing strategies, and observability instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks across Web and mobile.
• Deploy AI-driven test automation pipelines to auto-generate test cases and data.
• Build automated diagnostic engines using AI and observability tools to analyze failures.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines ensuring deterministic release gates.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to embed testability and risk mitigation.
• Drive AI-assisted defect triage and release risk assessments.
