Self Financial is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Business Systems team in Austin, TX. You will design, build, and maintain Python services that connect our CRM with downstream systems like payments and internal data services, focusing on latency, throughput, and reliability.

Responsibilities include diagnosing production issues, leveraging async Python, and implementing caching and tracing to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Strong Python experience with async programming and REST APIs
• Experience integrating data across services, handling failures and retries
• Understanding of HTTP design, caching, and API performance
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS) and logs/tracing tooling

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services that integrate CRM with payments and internal systems
• Diagnose and resolve production performance issues and latency
• Use asyncio to parallelize I/O-bound work
• Implement and tune Redis caching for high-throughput endpoints
• Build and maintain integrations with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
• Deploy and operate services in AWS or similar cloud environments
• Collaborate with DevOps/SRE and product teams to ship integration work
