Job summary

Self Financial is seeking a Python engineer to join the Business Systems team to build and operate the integration layer between our CRM, payments, and internal data services. This is a high-traffic, latency‑sensitive environment where performance directly affects real users.

You will design, build, and maintain Python REST services, optimize caching, use async IO, and deploy on AWS. Collaboration with CRM, DevOps, and product teams is essential for scalable, reliable integrations.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with Python, including async programming and building/maintaining REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of data integration between services, including data movement, retries, and consistency across systems.
• Solid understanding of HTTP and API design (pagination, timeouts, rate limiting, caching) and debugging performance in live services.
• Experience with a key-value or caching store (Redis) and caching/invalidation tradeoffs.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS).
• Comfort reading logs and distributed traces to debug systems issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services (REST APIs) that integrate CRM with downstream systems like payments and internal data services.
• Diagnose and resolve production performance issues, including I/O, connections, caching strategy, and API latency under load.
• Use async Python to parallelize I/O-bound work without degrading throughput.
• Implement and tune caching layers (Redis) for high-throughput endpoints.
• Build and maintain integrations with a CRM platform (Salesforce), including data queries and REST-based sync.
• Deploy and operate services in a cloud environment (AWS): serverless, containers, monitoring/alerting.
• Use observability/APM tooling to trace requests and validate fixes with production data.
• Write clean, well-tested code with clear API, business logic, and infrastructure separation.
• Participate in rotating on-call/production support to triage alerts and coordinate fixes.
