Job summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a software engineer on our technology team to design, develop, and deploy solutions for front office information systems. You will code, test, debug, and work with Quants, Portfolio Managers, and Analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with hybrid work up to three days from home. A strong background in Python, AWS, and modern software practices will help you thrive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 2+ years of Python experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, Application Load Balancers, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM.
• Experience with Python frameworks and tools (NumPy, Pandas).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with multiple programming paradigms (object-oriented, functional) and solid grasp of software design patterns.
• Dedication to quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/delivery.

Responsibilities

• Utilize internal tools to manage AWS-based services.
• Integrate with RESTful and GRPC APIs.
• Contribute to unit and integration testing, and play a role in maintaining and enhancing our CI/CD pipeline.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Take responsibility for managing technical debt in your solutions.
• Approach problems systematically and make informed tactical and strategic decisions.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adapt solutions as new information emerges.
• Mentor junior team members, offering support and guidance in a way that builds their confidence.
• Proactively assist colleagues and suggest improvements to team practices.
