Job summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a hands-on software engineer to join a cloud-first team delivering risk analytics tools used by investment professionals. You will design scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines in a modern AWS-based stack.

You’ll collaborate across product and engineering to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, with a focus on quality, testing, and continuous delivery in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver scalable software solutions across applications, services, databases, and infrastructure
• Develop and enhance backend services and cloud-native applications using modern object‑oriented languages, microservices patterns, and AWS or similar cloud technologies
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of applications and services, including development, support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, identify risks, and help drive technical alignment
• Make thoughtful engineering decisions, incorporating feedback and adjusting solutions based on outcomes
• Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business goals and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Apply modern engineering practices such as automated testing, code reviews, observability, CI/CD, and iterative delivery
• Identify and reduce technical debt while improving application design, data flows, and engineering processes
• Help ensure the consistency, reliability, and visibility of analytics and risk‑related data across portfolio management and analytics platforms
