Job summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and enhance cloud-native applications supporting the Multi-Asset Front Office.

You will work hands-on across the full product lifecycle, partnering with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and traders to deliver scalable solutions. The role emphasizes ownership, engineering judgment, and collaboration, with hybrid work eligibility and a focus on modern tech stacks and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with frameworks and tools like Pandas, React, Node.js, and Spring Boot.
• Experience deploying solutions using modern cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of automated testing practices and tools (TDD, BDD, Cucumber, Cypress).
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Redshift.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled applications and modern AI engineering patterns

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, testing, deployment, and support of scalable applications for Multi-Asset investment workflows.
• Translate complex business needs into practical technical solutions with product owners and stakeholders.
• Contribute to design decisions, architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Apply modern software engineering practices including agile delivery, CI/CD, automated testing, refactoring, and secure coding.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement durable improvements.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices within the team.
