Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a Microsoft Purview and Data Protection Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of enterprise data protection across Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud apps. This senior role partners with Security Operations, Infrastructure, Compliance, and Legal to translate regulatory requirements into effective technical controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, CS, information systems, engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Purview, DLP, DSPM, and information protection in large enterprises.
Strong knowledge of encryption, data governance, labeling, retention, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Assess governance and compliance environments; recommend Purview capabilities (DLP, Compliance, Information Protection).
Design and implement Purview solutions for data classification, labeling and governance across enterprise environments.
Perform health checks, discovery, and remediation for Purview deployments including audit and policy reviews.
Support deployment, integration, and post-implementation activities for Purview and related Microsoft security tools.
Lead architecture guidance, mentor engineers, and drive automation to mature data protection capabilities.
