Job summary

Prince George’s County Government is seeking a Senior Executive in the Office of the Director of the Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T). The role leads public works programs, collaborates with agencies, and guides strategic planning, budgeting, and staff development to deliver high-quality services to residents.

Bachelor's degree required; public works or related field preferred.
Seven (7)+ years of progressively responsible public works experience, including at least seven (7) years in supervisory/management roles.
Excellent writing, verbal, and leadership skills; ability to develop staff and communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and oversight of the DPW&T department.
Counsel, motivate, and give constructive performance feedback to staff.
Oversee financial aspects, including annual budget requests and compensation planning.
Represent the County in negotiations with other agencies and stakeholders.
Guide strategic planning, problem solving, and service delivery in public works.
Ensure leadership development and engagement across diverse communities.
