Job summary

Altarum is seeking an experienced Pricing Lead to own pricing for proposals supporting public sector and nonprofit clients. You will build audit-ready Excel models, apply FAR Part 31 and 2 CFR 200, and communicate pricing assumptions to reviewers and leaders. Role involves cross-functional collaboration with program teams, contracts, HR, and finance.

Location: Silver Spring, MD area preferred; remote work within approved U.S. states considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on pricing experience for federal/state contracts.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to build complex multi-variable pricing models.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31 and 2 CFR 200 across contract types (cost-reimbursable, T&M, fixed price).
• Clear communicator thriving in a collaborative, deadline-driven proposal environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end pricing for proposals from solicitation review to final cost volume submission.
• Build and maintain audit-ready Excel models including labor, indirects, escalation, fee, and subcontractors.
• Apply cost principles to ensure compliant pricing.
• Translate staffing and LOE into budgets, validate rates and assumptions, integrate subcontractor proposals and flowdowns.
• Support cost narratives and final proposal reviews for cost realism and mathematical accuracy.
• Strengthen pricing templates, tools, and processes; assist audits, negotiations, and post-award analysis.
• Contribute to FP&A activities including budget-to-actual variance analysis and pricing data for planning.
