Job summary

Altarum, a nonprofit health research and public service organization, is seeking a senior pricing professional to own end-to-end pricing for federal/state proposals from strategy through final cost submission. You’ll build and audit Excel models, translate staffing and effort into budgets, and validate rates while ensuring compliance with FAR Part 31 and 2 CFR 200.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on pricing experience for federal/state government contracts.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort building complex, multi-variable pricing models.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31 and 2 CFR 200, including experience with cost-reimbursable, T&M, and fixed-price contracts.
• Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven proposal environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end pricing for proposals, from solicitation review and strategy through final cost volume submission.
• Build and maintain audit-ready Excel models including labor, indirects, escalation, fee, and subcontractors.
• Apply and interpret cost principles to ensure compliant, responsive pricing.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate staffing and level of effort into budgets and validate rates.
• Support cost narratives and final proposal reviews for realism and mathematical accuracy.
• Help strengthen pricing templates, tools, and processes, and support audits and post-award analysis.
• Contribute to FP&A activities, including budget-to-actual variance analysis.
