Job summary

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking an Accountant IV in Tallahassee to manage audits and disbursement reconciliations. The role requires knowledge of Florida statutes, FLAIR, and Florida PALM, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness in processing payments.

The incumbent will review vouchers, ensure proper signatures, encode transactions, and communicate with vendors and staff to resolve discrepancies. This is a full-time state position based in Tallahassee.

Qualifications

• 3 years accounting or financial management experience required.
• Associate’s degree with 1 year professional experience can substitute.
• Familiarity with public sector financial processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Audit and reconcile expenditures in the Unencumbered Unit.
• Input disbursements promptly into FLAIR and related systems.
• Ensure compliance with Florida statutes and internal controls.
• Maintain encumbrances for contract payments in FLAIR.
• Communicate with Finance staff and vendors timely.
• Assist supervisor to resolve issues and improvements.
