Job summary

The State of Florida, Division of Finance Administration, is seeking an Accountant IV in Tallahassee to manage high‑volume accounts payable and payments processing. The role reports to the SES supervisor in Disbursements and requires detailed knowledge of FLAIR, MFMP and P-card workflows.

Responsibilities include processing DMS payments, reviewing P-card receipts, correcting postings, and auditing encumbrances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• Minimum three years of State of Florida accounts payable experience.
• Two years of P-card reconciliation experience in WORKS preferred.
• Three years of MFMP payments experience preferred.
• Three years of State of Florida FLAIR experience.
• Three years of State of Florida contract and grant payment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process DMS payments in FLAIR including contracts, redistributions, and unencumbered disbursements.
• Process and review P-card payments in WORKS; ensure receipts comply with statewide guidelines.
• Assist with correcting entries in FLAIR and adjust account codes as needed.
• Process MFMP invoices for payment and reconcile MFMP balances with FLAIR.
• Audit encumbrances for variances and discrepancies; maintain all related ledgers and logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
