Job summary

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in Tallahassee is seeking an OPS Accountant IV to manage grants, perform audits, and ensure compliant financial reporting. The role emphasizes Florida PALM proficiency, solid accounting experience, and cross‑functional collaboration within the Revenue and Grants Section.

Responsibilities include grant billing, cost tracking, monthly reconciliations, and federal report submissions, with normal business hours and mandatory background checks.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in accounting or financial management, with one (1) year of experience processing reimbursements, billing, or financial reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Audit and reconcile grants in the Revenue and Grants Section.
• Complete training and attain proficiency in the Florida PALM accounting system.
• Establish and maintain electronic files for each grant including budgets, amendments, invoices, and reports.
• Conduct monthly audits of the grants management system for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain monthly grant cost tracking sheets and coordinate billing approvals.
• Prepare and process grant billings, create revenue coding forms, and ensure accurate recording.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and ensure timely grant closure.
• Submit federal reports by internal deadlines (monthly, semi-annual, annual, interim, final).
• Monitor Period of Performance for grants to complete reports timely.
• Serve as FBO Grants Unit contact for assigned grants and policy queries.
• Collaborate with Revenue Section and other offices to support agency operations.
• Perform other related duties as required.
