Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) seeks a Program Supervisor V to lead the Public Hunting Program, including the small game lease program, and coordinate with field staff to develop hunts and regulation proposals.

This senior role oversees 3 to 5 staff, manages budgets, analyzes data, and prepares reports while ensuring compliance with agency policies. Based in Austin, the position requires strong leadership and wildlife management knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology or related field.
• Five years of professional experience in a natural resource related field.
• Valid class 'C' Texas driver's license within 30 days of employment.
• NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.
• Coursework in Marketing, Communications, or Administration.
• Experience in administration, accounting, or marketing.
• Experience in hunting and fishing.
• Knowledge of wildlife, habitat, and TPWD programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, administer and promote the Public Hunting Program and small game lease program.
• Develop proposals for public hunts and regulation changes with field staff.
• Assist with preparation and presentation of regulations for commission approval.
• Coordinate with staff to publish informational materials about the Public Hunting Program.
• Oversee lease agreements for public hunting lands and draw system operations.
• Supervise 3 to 5 staff or contract positions and manage related budgets and reports.
• Analyze data and prepare reports to support program funding and cost effectiveness.
