Qualifications

• Requires two years in Sacramento County service in HR Manager I or II, or five years in HR/labor relations with supervisory experience.
• Public sector experience strongly preferred; knowledge of state and federal employment laws is required.
• Master's or JD is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct work of HR staff, including managerial and clerical roles.
• Provide disciplinary guidance and conduct investigations as needed.
• Oversee recruitment, classification, compensation, safety, training, and labor relations programs.
