Job summary

Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Director of Human Resources who will provide strategic leadership for all HR functions and ensure compliance with California employment law and the hospital's labor agreements.

You will oversee HR strategy, labor relations, compensation, and organizational development, partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, and lead a dedicated HR team to deliver high‑quality operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of related HR experience.
• Experience in labor relations, including grievance handling, contract interpretation, and collaboration with union representatives
• SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
• Thorough understanding and working knowledge of Federal and State employment law.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership for all HR functions and ensures compliance with California employment law and labor agreements.
• Oversees HR strategy, labor relations, employee relations, compensation structure, and organizational development.
• Leads HR team and manages HR operations, budget, and governance reporting.
• Partners with executive leadership on workforce planning, culture initiatives, and organizational effectiveness.
• Represents the hospital in formal labor relations activities and escalates high‑risk matters as needed.
