Job summary

Amgen is seeking a motivated Scientist in mass spectrometry–based proteomics to join our Thousand Oaks team. You will develop high-throughput workflows, run automated sample prep and LC–MS/MS analyses, and collaborate with biology and chemistry to advance drug discovery.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, rigorous troubleshooting, and strong communication within cross-functional teams. A PhD or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD/PharmD/MD with relevant experience in proteomics or related field.
• Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry–based proteomics assays.
• Experience operating LC–MS/MS platforms (Orbitrap preferred) and analyzing complex data.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize high-throughput mass spectrometry proteomics workflows.
• Perform automated sample prep and LC–MS/MS analyses across assays.
• Collaborate with biology and chemistry teams as SME in proteomics.
• Analyze proteomics data to support mechanism of action and target engagement.
• Maintain documentation and present findings to cross-functional teams.
