Job summary

Amgen seeks a mass spectrometry scientist and analytical protein chemist with a proven track record in supporting biopharmaceutical proteins, scientific eminence, leadership, and mentoring skills. You will join the BEAM group, offering scientific and technical expertise to support discovery through to late-stage optimization of Amgen’s drug candidates.

You will apply LC-MS for intact protein and subunit analyses, work with high-throughput MS, perform protein digestion and PTM mapping, and handle

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or equivalent in analytical chemistry or biochemistry.
  • Experience with LC-MS for intact protein and subunits.
  • Experience with high-throughput MS (Rapidfire) is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate scientific concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and technical expertise from early discovery to late-stage optimization.
  • Design, execute and interpret MS-based analyses.
  • Maintain accurate records in an electronic lab notebook.
  • Mentor and lead projects to required deadlines.
