Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA, is seeking a Senior Scientist in mass spectrometry–based proteomics to join a collaborative team. You will deliver insights to support target identification and drug discovery, while advancing proteomics platforms.

The role includes developing high-throughput workflows, executing LC-MS/MS analyses, and partnering with chemistry, biology, and disease-area teams to accelerate discovery and strengthen the pipeline.

Qualifications

• PhD/PharmD/MD with relevant experience or 4+ years with a Master's.
• Strong track record in developing mass spectrometry–based proteomics assays.
• Experience with sample preparation miniaturization and automation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize high-throughput MS-based proteomics workflows and screening platforms.
• Execute automated sample preparation and LC-MS/MS analysis across a broad range of assays.
• Collaborate with chemistry, biology, and disease-area teams as SME; contribute to data-driven decisions.
• Perform data analysis and generate insights on mechanism of action, target engagement, and selectivity.
• Present findings at meetings and communicate plans, results, and analyses to cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, protocols, and analyses.
