Job summary

Antares Therapeutics is seeking a Sr. Scientist II/Principal Scientist to lead proteomics and chemoproteomics efforts for small molecule programs. You will drive target discovery, engagement validation, and SAR advancement using advanced MS-based proteomics and DIA workflows.

The role requires a PhD with 8+ years experience, strong MS/LC skills, and ability to mentor others in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, proteomics or chemical biology with 8+ years experience.
• Deep experience operating and maintaining MS and LC instrumentation.
• Expertise in MS-based proteomics to study protein modification, interactions, turnover, or targets.
• Experience in MS-based sample preparation and target enrichment.
• Desirable: ABPP knowledge and MOA experience (covalent ligands, PROTACs, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chemical biology functional lead on programs and present discovery evidence.
• Propose and enable development of new proteomic workflows and evaluate MS strategies.
• Design and execute quantitative proteomics experiments (DIA or targeted workflows).
• Analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings at internal meetings; maintain lab records.
• Maintain and tune Orbitrap-based MS and HPLC instrumentation.
• Engage with data science to develop proteomic data analysis pipelines.
• Mentor junior scientists and establish best practices as technical authority.
