Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Associate Scientist Discovery Proteomics in South San Francisco to expand expertise in LC-MS/MS-based proteomics and support early discovery programs. You will execute workflows for quantitative proteomics, including cell-surface target discovery, proximity labeling, and biomarker efforts, collaborating with colleagues across biology, automation and bioinformatics.

Qualifications

Master's degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, molecular/cell biology, or related field.
Hands-on proteomics sample preparation experience.
Familiarity with Proteome Discoverer, Spectronaut, DIA-NN or similar software.
Experience with LC-MS workflows and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

Execute and optimize established proteomics workflows including sample prep and LC-MS acquisition.
Prepare samples from cell lines and biological matrices using enrichment workflows.
Operate LC-MS systems across vendor platforms and troubleshoot issues.
Process proteomic data and communicate results to project teams.
Maintain detailed records of experiments and instrument performance.
