Job summary

WSP is seeking a Protection Engineer, Senior Professional Electrical Engineer with a Protective Relaying emphasis, for the Orlando, FL office, with additional consideration for Augusta, ME; Freeport, ME; Syracuse, NY; Charlotte, NC; Overland Park, KS; and Richmond, VA. Remote work from a mutually acceptable location may be considered.

You will design, engineer, and study protection systems for substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, and distribution systems, and lead project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 5–7 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering Protective Relaying projects.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Adherence to WSP safety and conduct policies.

Responsibilities

• Protective relaying: develop protection philosophies, relay settings, and SCADA integration.
• Protection analyses: short-circuit, time-current coordination, arc flash, and NERC compliance.
