Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Senior Lead Protection Engineer in Boise, ID. The role focuses on design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for substations, lines, generators, and renewables.

The successful candidate will lead project teams, develop protection philosophies, and ensure safe, compliant operation across IEEE, ANSI, and NERC standards. Some remote work from a mutually acceptable US location may be considered.

Qualifications

• Requires BA/BE degree in electrical engineering and a PE license or ability to obtain one.
• 12+ years in protective relaying for power generation, transmission and distribution.
• Occasional travel may be required; strong safety record expected.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and study protection systems for bulk power equipment.
• Lead projects and teams, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop protection philosophy, relay settings, and SCADA integration.
