Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Lead Protection Engineer with a Protective Relaying emphasis for our Boise, ID office. The successful candidate will design, engineer, and study protection systems for equipment on the bulk power system, including substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, and distribution systems.

The role requires strong leadership, familiarity with IEEE/ANSI/NERC standards, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 7+ years of experience in protective relaying projects for power generation, transmission and distribution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams on client projects to meet scope, schedule and budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support data acquisition and discuss project specifics with clients at appropriate technical level.
