Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Senior Lead Protection Engineer to design, engineer, and study protection systems for equipment on the bulk power system. The role covers substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, industrial, and distribution systems.

The successful candidate will use deep knowledge to lead projects, develop new clients, and mentor teams within our ESSP group. Remote work from a mutually acceptable US location may be considered.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree.
• 12+ years of post-education experience in protective relaying projects for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• PE license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
• Proven safety compliance and ability to adhere to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and client engagements, meeting scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Develop new clients and strategic project decisions.
• Support data collection during on-site visits and discuss project specifics with clients.
