Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a Senior Proposal Writer to join our national proposals team and work from one of our Florida offices (Tampa, Naples, Fort Lauderdale, Coral Gables, or Orlando). The role is full-time with four in-office days and one remote day per week.

You will coordinate RFP responses, tailor proposals for public-sector clients, collaborate with service lines, and ensure compliance with client requirements. Strong InDesign, Deltek, and proposal-writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in proposal writing, estimating, and qualifications preparation in a design, engineering, or consulting firm with public-sector experience.
• Established knowledge of Florida municipalities and public-sector procurement processes preferred.
• Exceptional organizational and written communication skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree; in architecture, engineering, or related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate RFP response packages in InDesign and proposal documents.
• Collaborate with service line leaders to input scope and fees for proposals.
• Conduct research and attend meetings to ensure proposals reflect expertise and competitive advantages.
• Maintain familiarity with regional procurement practices to strengthen responsiveness.
• Review proposals with technical leads to ensure client requirements compliance.
• Coordinate with Legal and Finance to produce complete packages.
• Provide quality control reviews of proposals prepared by others.
• Serve as a liaison with local clients to obtain clarifications and support relationship-building.
• Enter and maintain client/project data in Deltek CRM system.
• Refine templates, narratives, and graphics based on client needs and regional feedback.
