Job summary

The Florida Department of Revenue invites you to apply for the Senior Appraiser role in Tallahassee. This professional position operates within the PTO program and requires advanced knowledge of appraisal methods and discretion.

Key duties include conducting reviews of property appraisals, compiling market data, and assisting county officials. Travel is required and telework may be considered with supervisor approval.

Qualifications

• Four years of single-property or mass appraisal experience, including inspecting and valuing real properties.
• Experience collecting and analyzing large quantities of sale, income, and expense data.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel to compile, interpret, analyze, and display validation data.
• Experience in applying multiple approaches to value and proper appraisal methodology.

Responsibilities

• Participate and conduct procedure reviews on property appraisers’ and tax collectors’ offices or internal departmental processes.
• Perform reviews of real property appraisals in accordance with manuals, guidelines, and procedures.
• Compile and analyze market, cost and income data to develop estimates of value for Property Tax Oversight.
• Research, inspect, photograph and verify sale and income data for use in appraisals.
• Travel as needed to participate in interviews and reviews with County Property Appraisers.
