Job summary

The Florida Department of Revenue in Fort Myers is seeking an Appraiser II to join the Property Tax Oversight Program. The role conducts real property assessments to determine market value for statewide property tax purposes, performing field inspections and preparing USPAP-compliant appraisal reports.

Candidates should have at least two years of appraisal experience, proficiency with MS Word/Excel, and knowledge of multiple valuation approaches. Travel is required; telework may be available.

Qualifications

• Two years of single-property or mass appraisal experience including inspecting and valuing real properties such as residential, commercial, or industrial properties.
• Experience collecting and analyzing large quantities of sale, income, and expense data.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel to compile, interpret, analyze, and display validation data.
• Experience in applying multiple approaches to value and proper appraisal methodology.

Responsibilities

• Appraise real property to determine its just market value for assessment purposes in accordance with prescribed guidelines.
• Conduct field inspections of real property, vacant and improved, and write and submit USPAP compliant appraisal reports.
• Verify sales, collect data, and interview parties familiar with various properties such as contractors, grantors, grantees, and real estate agents.
