Job summary

The Florida Department of Revenue is seeking a Senior Appraiser for the Property Tax Oversight Program in Lake City. The role involves inspecting real properties, preparing USPAP-compliant appraisal reports, and verifying sales data to support market-value determinations.

Ideal candidates will have four years of appraisal experience, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Travel is required; telework is possible with supervisor approval.

Qualifications

• At least four years of single-property or mass appraisal experience.
• Experience collecting and analyzing large quantities of sale, income, and expense data.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel to compile, interpret, analyze, and display validation data.
• Experience in the application of multiple approaches to value and proper appraisal methodology.
• College degree in Real Estate or closely related field can substitute on a year-for-year basis for experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform real property appraisals to determine just market value for assessment purposes.
• Conduct field inspections of real property, vacant and improved.
• Write and submit USPAP compliant appraisal reports.
• Verify sales data, conduct data collection and interview real estate professionals.
• Utilize MS Office to compile analysis and support valuation conclusions.
