Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Risk Control Specialist to own the Property Technical Discipline within an assigned territory. You will conduct complex risk assessments, advise customers on loss control, and mentor other risk control staff, while collaborating with underwriting and business partners.

You should bring a bachelor’s in a science or engineering field, 8+ years in risk assessment/consulting, and certifications like PE or CFPS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field.
• Eight+ years of risk assessment/consulting experience in property discipline.
• Certification in risk control disciplines such as PE, CFPS, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication to convey technical info.
• Coaching and talent development to mentor others.
• Expert understanding of risk control in commercial lines.
• Strong organizational and time management to meet expectations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a field presence with customers (20%–50%), onsite or virtual.
• Conduct high‑complexity risk evaluations and support risk pricing with underwriting.
• Educate customers on risk management and advocate recommended changes.
• Mentor and guide Risk Control consultants and junior staff.
• Develop discipline expertise; deliver targeted trainings to staff and partners.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
