Job summary

Markel Corporation is seeking an Executive Loss Control, Property & Marine Specialist to advance loss control and risk engineering for a global book of business. The role involves on-site, virtual and desktop risk assessments across Property, Inland Marine and Ocean Marine accounts, with detailed reporting and actionable risk reduction recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Risk Management or Fire Sciences preferred.
• 6+ years of Property, Inland Marine & Ocean Marine loss control/risk management experience in retail/wholesale.
• Understanding of NFPA, FM Global, IBC or client standards and fire protection systems.
• Experience with risk control vendor management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site, virtual and desktop risk assessments for Property, Inland Marine and Ocean Marine accounts.
• Identify exposures, communicate risks and recommend controls to reduce loss potential.
• Write technically detailed risk reports with clear recommendations.
• Deliver technical training to team members, underwriters and insureds.
• Travel approximately 25% and support larger multi-line surveys as needed.
