Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead-level property claims adjuster to investigate and manage highly complex homeowner claims in field settings across Texas. You will determine liability, secure information, and negotiate settlements, with travel up to 75% for catastrophe events.

A company vehicle is provided, and relocation support may be offered. Role requires Advanced Xactimate, 5+ years of field property claims experience, and licensing.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to handle 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Experience providing customer-driven solutions and services.
• Ability to handle complex claims efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and others.
• Participates in High Damage Reviews to address coverage issues and exposure.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and negotiates with involved parties.
• Responds to inquiries, makes decisions, and closes files as needed.
• Interprets policy coverages and applies them to assigned losses.
• Mentors less experienced adjusters and shares expertise.
