Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead level property claims adjuster to investigate and manage highly complex homeowner property claims in the field. You will determine liability, review coverages, arrange appraisals, negotiate settlements, and work with insureds, claimants, and experts.

You will be based in Oklahoma or Southern Kansas with a fleet vehicle provided and travel up to 50% (75% for catastrophe).

Qualifications

• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• 5+ years’ experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Experience handling claims over $50,000 preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; state licensure where required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high-exposure homeowner claims and negotiates with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and applies policy coverages to determine settlements.
• Mentor and guide less experienced adjusters and provide customer-focused solutions.
• Travel up to 50% (catastrophe travel up to 75% as applicable).
