Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead-level property claims adjuster in Texas. The role is primarily field-based, handling complex homeowner property claims, with up to 50% travel to client sites or meetings.

The position reports to a Large Loss Senior Manager and offers a compensation range of $88,000 to $145,000 plus relocation support. Responsibilities include on-site inspections, coverage analysis, and negotiations with insureds and attorneys.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• Experience handling high-exposure claims (over $50,000) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims; coordinates with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and contractors.
• Participates in High Damage Reviews to address coverage and exposure.
• Handles 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and negotiates with insureds and attorneys.
• Responds to customer inquiries, makes decisions, and closes files.
• Mentors and supports less experienced adjusters.
