Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead level property claims adjuster to investigate and maintain highly complex homeowner claims. The role involves determining liability, arranging appraisals, and settling claims in the field, with travel to various Texas locations.

A fleet vehicle is provided, and relocation support is available for eligible candidates. You will work in the field, directly engaging customers, and report to a Large Loss Senior Manager.

Qualifications

• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• 5+ years' experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Experience handling claims over $50,000 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims.
• Conducts on-site inspections and negotiates with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
• Handles 1st and 3rd party claims across multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Mentors less experienced adjusters and provides subject matter expertise.
• Implements claim process steps and communicates status to all parties.
