Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a lead level field property claims adjuster in Texas. You will investigate high exposure homeowner claims, determine liability, secure information, and arrange appraisals.

Travel up to 50% (75% catastrophe) with a company fleet vehicle provided, in a field-based role reporting to a Large Loss Senior Manager. The role emphasizes on-site inspections, complex claim negotiations, and independent decision-making across multiple policy types.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• Valid driver's license with DMV record.
• Relocation support may be offered for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims with insureds, claimants, agents, and others.
• Participates in HDRs to address coverage issues and exposure.
• Handles 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections and negotiates with insureds, claimants, and attorneys.
• Communicates status and decisions to all parties and closes files as needed.
• Interprets policies and endorsements and applies them to assigned losses.
