Job summary

Holmes Murphy is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to join the Property Casualty team in Minnesota. The role focuses on independent daily claims management, client education, and strong customer service to support clients and internal teams.

The candidate will handle claims reporting, coverage explanations, and loss process guidance while ensuring accurate, timely information and responsive service. A college degree and 1–3 years in property/casualty claims are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: College degree or property casualty claims and insurance experience preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years career experience. Property and casualty claims, agency and/or insurance experience a plus.
• Licensing: State-specific state commercial & personal property-casualty license required or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Technical Competencies: Invests in understanding and applying insurance principles to consult with clients and meet their strategic needs. Actively contributes to workflows, processes, and deliverables, using agency systems to provide a world-class client experience and ensure compliance. Able to understand clients, prioritize tasks, manage status, and deliver impactful solutions proactively.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform the daily tasks required to efficiently manage daily claims needs.
• Consult, educate and assist clients with claims related functions and services including: reporting claims, understanding coverage, and claim process education.
• Review open losses to ensure proper handling and reserving and provide timely loss information.
• Notify all parties in litigated matters and ensure timely notice of new lawsuits.
• Perform research and follow-up for clients on claims management issues and questions.
• Provide day-to-day customer service by answering client questions and handling concerns.
