Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Proofpoint Email Security SME to own and escalate complex email-security issues. You will configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Proofpoint in a large enterprise, coordinating with Cyber Fusion Center and other teams to strengthen email defenses.

The role requires hands-on engineering, deep knowledge of mail flow, and strong communications across cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in email security or related cybersecurity discipline.
• Hands-on admin/engineering of Proofpoint enterprise solutions.
• Strong understanding of SMTP, DNS, MX records, mail routing.
• Knowledge of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Experience with Microsoft 365/Exchange Online in large enterprises.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mail-flow issues across multiple systems.
• Experience investigating phishing, BEC, spoofing, threats.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary Proofpoint SME and escalation point.
• Own configuration, health, and optimization of the Proofpoint platform.
• Troubleshoot mail-flow and delivery across Proofpoint and Microsoft 365/Exchange Online.
• Manage email security policies (anti-phishing, anti-spam, malware, impersonation).
• Investigate email threats with the Cyber Fusion Center during incidents.
• Analyze message headers, SMTP transactions, and Proofpoint logs to identify root causes.
• Manage SPF/DKIM/DMARC configurations and authenticators.
• Develop secure email routing, connectors, and mail controls.
• Continuously tune Proofpoint to reduce false positives and disruption.
• Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks.
