Job summary

McFarland Construction is seeking a Project Superintendent for commercial construction projects in Indianapolis. The role oversees all phases of the project, coordinating subcontractors, materials, and equipment to ensure work aligns with plans, schedule, and budget.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in commercial construction, with preference for interior renovations and experience with upfit projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial construction projects.
• Experience with commercial upfit/interior renovations preferred.
• Ability to thoroughly understand drawings, specs, contracts, and methods.
• Able to forecast budgets and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to communicate effectively.
• Willing to work nights and weekends.
• Maintain jobsite cleanliness and safety.
• Work in occupied spaces.
• Strong MS Office skills; Procore experience beneficial.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors for daily construction activities.
• Develop and implement overall project schedules; manage critical path and material delivery.
• Lead site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with safety codes.
• Oversee scheduling, delivery, logistics, and staffing across trades.
• Coordinate with estimating/preconstruction on schedule, logistics, safety, constructability.
